about buttr.
Born in New Jersey from a love of science and baking, buttr. is built on the belief that simple ingredients, thoughtfully combined, can create something unforgettable. It starts with the butter.
Every recipe begins with our signature caramelized brown butter base: butter slowly roasted and toasted for deep notes of caramel and toffee, then paired with rich caramel. That extra time creates a depth of flavor that can't be rushed, and it ties our cookies and cupcakes together even as our flavors evolve.
From premium Belgian chocolate and real vanilla to Irish butter and hormone-free whole milk powder, every ingredient is chosen for the flavor it brings. The result is small-batch treats that are comforting, indulgent, and worth savoring to the last bite.
our kitchen.
Every buttr. creation is made in a private home kitchen right here in New Jersey, under the state's Cottage Food Operator Permit from the New Jersey Department of Health. It's a responsibility we take seriously, because the care that goes into our flavors goes into how we run our kitchen, too.
Our baker is a Certified Food Protection Manager, and ours is an extra clean kitchen. Dishes are washed and spotless from start to finish, and we keep completely separate utensils for baking than for everyday cooking at home. Everything buttr. related has its own dedicated space: a commercial chef fridge and separate freezers used only for our ingredients, cookies, and cupcakes, never shared with our household food. Our shelf-stable products are kept completely separate as well, so nothing buttr. ever sits beside anything from our home pantry or fridge.
A note on allergens: We don't use nuts in our recipes, to help prevent cross-contact. That said, this is a home kitchen that does house nuts, and some of our ingredients are made in facilities that process nuts and other allergens. We can't guarantee an allergen-free environment, so if you have an allergy, please use caution and think twice before eating our products, as we can't be held responsible for allergic reactions.
Packaging: Every cookie is individually wrapped and labeled, then placed into its cookie box. Cupcakes come in labeled containers of 12 or 24. Every label is made the way New Jersey requires, with our business name, full ingredient list, allergens, and the state's required home-kitchen statement.
And because we sell directly to you, through pre-order drops and in-person pickup, never wholesale and never shipped, every order is baked fresh and placed straight into yours. It's a difference you can taste, and one you can trust.
